EECA is a New Zealand Government agency that is responsible for administering Government initiatives and programmes that promote energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy. Under the EECA brand, material is needed for ENERGYWISE, EECA BUSINESS and ENERGY STAR aimed at consumers or businesses.
They wanted to break away from their current templated feel but still retain the EECA professional image. Ink coverage and maximising pages were considered throughout the design to reflect their energy efficiency vision.
ANNUAL REPORT
The Statement of Intent cover features a part of EECA’s mission statement as a typographic visual to indicate the story inside and inspire the reader to turn the pages and get the whole story. The cover was blind embossed to minimise ink coverage for a clean, simple and efficient look that EECA is about.
The information is more easily accessible and engaging through graphs and pull quotes, while not over designed or over embellished, thereby creating the perception of an inexpensively produced document.
STATEMENT OF INTENT
This point-of-sale visualises to the customer by using a relevant product, what they could be saving on the cost of running a washing machine per year, as oppose to just saying ‘savings’. I designed real life boxes of washing powder that had housed information regarding energy savings, that were placed on ENERGYWISE approved washing machines in-store.
POINT OF SALE FOR ENERGY STAR
This point-of-sale visualises to the customer by using a relevant product, what they could be saving on the cost of running a fridge per year, as oppose to just saying ‘savings’. I designed real life milk cartons that had housed information regarding energy savings, that were placed in and on ENERGYWISE approved fridges in-store.
